Mountain Ash 7408 – June – down at end left side

Mountain Ash  Caorthann (Sorbus aucuparia).  Native in Ireland with grey stems, pinnate leaves with 14 or so leaflets on either side of a common stalk. White flowers in late spring are succeeded red fruits.  Clusters of red fruits are noticeable in autumn and winter and are often eaten by birds. (Source: Dr Mary Forrest, UCD).
