Kashmir Birch (Betula utilis var jacquemontii). The white peeling stem and open growth habit are the most striking features of this elegant tree. Close to the 5 – 8cm leaves have noticeable venation and are larger then the native Birch, Betula pendula. (Source: Dr Mary Forrest, UCD)
